Philosophies, morals, that sort of thing. Some just believe we are shutting our self in too much as a race because of technology. In a way sadly, it is true. Not many connections left to nature save for the farmers that provide most if not all of our food.
Even though it is true that we should not destroy our world in the process of advancement, I would very much rather be "disconnected" from nature rather than having to fight for my food and life every day. The main goal of life is to survive and reproduce, and technology is the best way for the human race to achieve that.
We have the structures to do it. We just keep taking them down without a thought of how to reuse them. The concept isn't new and has been redone time and time again. But no one has ever thought of how to apply it.
Despite my lack of faith in humanities method of progress at the moment I still think there are ways around it. Like using solar and wind powered rail lines for cargo. Lots of coal for carbon nano-tubes yes, but the applications are endless when it comes to carbon its self so far it would seem. Graphine even more so.
True being able to thrive has its positive traits. Yet, I still see a lot of lack of interest in peaceful technology like this. Futurist go nuts over it and yet do nothing about natural impact tech. Only the rich have that power and no one is willing to make that impact either. I find frustration in a lot of things this planet has to offer humanity as a whole as I've stated before and can't stress enough. Changes must be made.
Cool pic, very interesting. And WAIT, is that Flutter Shy and she became a cyborg ? Because it would be really cool if she alongside the rest really did that, and at least they would still be with Twilight and she with them.
I'm guessing the semescense cessation age means the age when she stopped aging physcically? Thats the only thing in this I dont get. And did she arive in her own personal ship? Being a princess I would think she would get her own. And if the planet below is Equestria in 1000 years I wonder what Ponyvile looks like.
1) Yes, it means the age when she stopped aging physically
2) She probably did arrive on her personal spacecraft.
3) I originally intend it to be the throne world of the Harmonian Hegemony and Equestria itself being on the other side of the galaxy, but my friend wrote Equestria as the capital. It's pretty much up to your preference.
4) I imagine after a thousand years Ponyville had been abandoned, demolished and turned into part of some futuristic metropolis on Equestria, with what remains of the village being condoned off as an archaeological/historical site.
That helps. I guess it makes sense that Ponyvile whould be abandoned. And if anything does remain, Twilight propbably had something to do with it. And I know that's not Fluttershy in the background but she might be one of her distant descendits.
An idea I thought up when I consider that after all those lessons on the importance of friendship, love and harmony, she would want to be far more approachable and closer relationship with the rest of her subjects without scaring them in her no-doubt-by-that-point imposing Alicorn form as well as status, so she uses polymorph magic to allow her go around using her original form as a secondary form.
Plus, her modesty in both appearance and action make others underestimate her in politics, which would work to her advantage, especially in a future-Equestria setting where the ponies, griffins, dragons, and other races now expands across the galaxy as a star-faring imperial power.
This is actually the first time I've heard of it. Thanks for telling me. And when I thought abut it a little more there might be a bit of star wars in there to. The planet below kind of looks like Corusant. But then again I could be wrong.
I intend to portray the interstellar empire of ponies and other species as more of a neutral entity, every time I put in the Harmonion Hegemony in other sci-fi/mlp omakes I wrote in other deviantART works, but I often ended up hamming up the 'Imperialism' of it due to my personal romanticized view of 'Heroic Conquerors' of the past, and so when my friends decides to roleplay on them as they did in my other omakes... well, you see the portrayal.
